Optimum Employer Solutions announces its completion of the SOC 1 Examination. The SOC 1 Examination, formerly known as SAS70 Type II, is a third-party assurance audit established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that determines if an organization has proper data protection, privacy, confidentiality and reporting controls in place.
Optimum Employer Solutions understands the importance of gathering, reporting, and securing its clients’ and prospective clients’ data. The examination was performed by a nationally recognized independent auditing firm and was completed in September 2015. During the examination, Optimum’s general controls that support its range of outsourced human resource services were thoroughly examined in the following areas:
- General organization and administration
- Access to computer facilities and environmental controls
- Access, transmission, and backup of data files
- Payroll processing
- Payroll taxes
- Benefits withholding
Optimum’s service auditor performed extensive testing. After the tests were completed, the service auditor determined that Optimum’s controls meet the standards required for receiving the SOC 1 certification. Optimum’s successful completion of the SOC 1 report demonstrates a continued commitment to providing effective and reliable services that meet and exceed customers’ human resource outsourcing needs.
